Im  Luke. 

I was born in Providence, Rhode Island to two working class artists, a carpenter/ painter father and a librarian/ seamstress mother. I grew up in a small rural town known statewide for its numerous snow days and swamp yankees. My siblings and I didnt have tv until we were older, so we instead played around and made art. Still do.

At the end of the day, Im interested in people. I like to investigate the things that keep us together and the things that make us, um, us. 

To that end, I use storytelling to put voice and action to that which might forge a more loving, compassionate, and unified society, as well as extending my own borders of empathy and understanding. On a good day, thats how it goes. Sometimes I need to pay rent. 

I wanna do my part, however small, to bring forth a brighter future than what has been promised.

Luke has earned his BA in acting at Caregie Mellon University, and continues his education privately and with the Upright Citizens Brigade in New York City. He has worked as an actor primarliy on the development new plays. 

He has preformed at venues such as the Actors theater of Louisville in the Humana Festival and The Denver Center for Performing Arts.

Light TheMountain is the solo musical persona of, yup you guessed it, Luke LaMontagne.

In high school luke picked up a guitar and singing in a weezer coverband with Elliott Colantuono of Skinflicks. Soon look started developing his own music, heavliy influenced by the bluegrass, celtic traditions and choir music he heard as a child, as well as the working class american folk that he gravitated towards as he got older. 

Light TheMountain has played at wine bars around Manhattan, as well as reacurring to play at PINEBOX ROCK SHOP in East Williamsburg, CAFFEINE UNDERGROUND in Bushwick, JITTERS and the PLAYGROUND FESTIVAL in Pittsburgh, and MAGBAR in Louisville. 

At present, Light TheMountain has been moving in an electronic direction, as Luke experients with less analog methods, and branches out into the wild world of daws.

The coming Light TheMountain EP will certainly be reflecting that. 

The ep will be a collection of five songs that explore types of love in various phases, and promises to be LaMontagnes most ambitious musical undertaking yet.

boysday is the collaborative efforts of Luke and Raj-Krishan Mistry of Poetmistry 

Luke and Krishan met in the final final year of Krishan’s grad school in Providence. They soon became friends and have been steadily building up their recording porfolio, recording numerous demos and have recently released their first self titled EP.

What is SEX?

SEX is the future.

In high school, Luke and cousin Elliott Colantuono of Skinflicks started developing their own original music switching off between punk sincerity and comedic lyricism, playing a few venues around Providence.

After long haituses from collaborating while they attended college, they reconnected and formed SEX, an experimental almalomation of their indivigual interests to form its uniquely eclectic style. SEX made their debut with single “digital wellbeing” for the zine mixtape. 

At its core, SEX is the friendship of two lifelongers, and the sense of humor that they have developed along the way.
